The temporary 50% boost ends on 13 September. A permanent 25% uplift over the original limit replaces it. That is more than the old baseline and less than what you have had lately.
What changed
Anthropic ends the temporary 50% boost to Claude Code weekly limits on 13 September 2026. From 14 September a permanent increase of 25% over the original standard weekly limit takes effect. On a baseline of 100, the boosted limit has been 150 and the new permanent limit is 125. Pro, Max, Team and seat-based Enterprise plans are affected. Free plan and consumption-based Enterprise seats are not. Claude.ai chat limits and API pay-per-token pricing are unchanged.
Why it matters
Two headlines have described this as a 25% increase and as a 17% cut. Both are accurate against different baselines, which is exactly how a capacity change gets misread. Measured against what you had last week, you lose roughly 17%. Measured against what the plan originally promised, you gain 25%, permanently. If you tuned your working habits during the boost, the fortnight after 14 September is when you feel it.
Take
The temporary 50% boost ends on 13 September. A permanent 25% uplift over the original limit replaces it. That is more than the old baseline and less than what you have had lately.
What to do
Before 14 September, note what a normal week costs you in Claude Code sessions. Claude Code defaults to High effort, which consumes quickly. If you regularly hit the weekly wall, move routine work to Medium effort and keep High for the tasks that genuinely need it.
